How
to order the license plate
The
license plate is on sale now at all offices of the Utah
Department of Motor Vehicles. Make sure to ask for the
Utah
Housing Opportunity plate.
Ordering
a personalized plate
Plate
personalization is available for the REALTOR® design,
subject to DMV approval. The vanity plates may not exceed
five characters in length and the combination of characters
may not already be issued. Vehicle owners must complete
an "Application
for Personalized Plates" in order to apply for
a personalized plate.
Cost
of the plate
Vehicle
owners must pay an annual $30 contribution fee for the plate
in addition to all other fees due when the plate is issued.
A
majority of the funds will go directly to the Utah Association
of REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Fund (UARHOF) where
the money will be given to organizations that help people
with severe housing needs.
Who
may purchase the plate?
Only
active REALTOR® members of the Utah Association of REALTORS®
are authorized to purchase the plate. The plate is not available
to other member classes of the association, and real estate
agents and brokers who are not UAR members are not eligible
to purchase the plate.
Two
separate ways to provide proof of REALTOR® membership
The
Utah Department of Motor Vehicles requires proof of REALTOR®
membership in order to purchase the Utah Housing Opportunity
plate. One of the following forms of ID may be used:
- Membership
card from the National Association of REALTORS®
This membership card was mailed to you with your National
Association of REALTORS® Membership Reference Guide.
- UAR
membership documentation letter
The Utah Association of REALTORS® is providing these
documentation letters to all REALTORS® who request
them. Simply call the UAR office at (801) 676-5200 or
(800) 594-8933.
